The South Australian Business Chamber, South Australia’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry has announced the South Australian Premier’s Business and Export Awards 2023, a revitalised and expanded business awards initiative to be conducted in partnership with the state government.

The awards will recognise and celebrate the outstanding contribution our local businesses make to the social, environmental, and economic well-being of our community.

There is scope for recognition across a diverse number of categories including Emerging Business of the Year and Indigenous Business of the Year. In total, there are 11 business award categories and 13 export award categories.

Nominations open today and close Wednesday 14 June.

All nominations for the category awards are automatically considered for two prestigious major awards: The SA Business of the Year Award and The SA Exporter of the Year Award.

Awards will be presented to winners at a Gala Dinner for more than 1000 guests at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Friday 22 September 2023.

Winners of the export award categories are eligible for the national Australian Export Awards to be held in Canberra in November.

Premier Peter Malinauskas has put his name to the awards, saying it’s been a stellar year of growth in our state.

South Australian businesses and those who export have achieved a remarkable growth of more than 25 per cent.

South Australia’s economy is performing strongly, recording the second fastest growth rate in the nation at a time of historically low unemployment.

This extraordinary result owes much to the productivity and ingenuity of South Australian business.

These awards are an opportunity for the sector to come together, reflect upon and celebrate these achievements,” said The Premier.

The South Australian Business Chamber CEO Andrew Kay says the opportunity to recognise SA businesses on this scale is long overdue.

The South Australian Business Chamber hosted the last major export awards in 2019 and for many years prior.

The addition of general business awards to the programme elevates the occasion and allows us to shine the spotlight on the many businesses around our state who are doing great things, whether their focus is local, national, or global.

The willingness of the Premier to see this happen has been instrumental in securing government support and raising the profile of these awards,” said Mr Kay.

The South Australian Business Chamber is seeking sponsors for the Awards and the Gala Dinner. Several businesses are already backing the awards including MEGT, Adelaide Airport, Qantas Business Rewards, Qantas Business Money, Careerlink People Solutions, Peripheral Blue Legal and The Advertiser.

Nominations are now open at business-sa.com/awards.
